spices 101

a coworker of mine forwarded this article to me yesterday and i found it super fascinating.  i often wonder when i open my spice cabinet "are these even good anymore?" some of them could very well be five years old plus.  well this handy dandy chart provides some insight to the life span of your spices along with some fresh tips on the aroma, color, storage and handling.

  1. yes, i have an aunt who is relentless in preaching the importance of fresh spices. i try to buy in small amounts so i don't end up holding on to stuff forever.
