packing 101

when i go on a trip i tend to over pack and not just a little, a lot. i typically pack at least two outfits per day plus some.  you just never know what you may need.  but unfortunately, you only get 50 pounds when you fly and i always ask to borrow some space in jared's suitcase.  but this week i'm on my own so i decided a different approach to packing.

i decided to set out all my outfits day by day along with the shoes and accessories. and that's it...well for now.

how do you pack?

  1. I'll just say that you come by it naturaly. I remember having to take the truck and the car to go tent camping for one night.

  2. I am also guilty of overpacking. I've tried to get better about it and think I'm improving some!!

I remember when packing for Greece, I brought home probably over half of my entire wardrobe, emptied out the suitcases, and basically repacked 1 carry on and 2 full size suitcases, with the help of my mom. Yep, at 25 years old, I had to have my mom help me pack. I was much better with my Spain trip...only 3 pairs of shoes, and 2 extra outfits I think - all fit into 1 carry on and 1 suitcase.

  3. Because I've been traveling for work for awhile now - I put a little strategy into my packing. I start a few days before and write everything out on a piece of paper. I have some tried and true outfits I take every time. Then for the outfits I am experimenting with, I come home and play "dress up" to see if they actually look good in person and not just my head. I usually try to utilize the business top I had on during the day, to go with my jeans in the evening. I always bring an extra work shirt in case something happens and then maybe one other extra outfit. I also only bring 2 pairs of heels - yes this is difficult since I have fun leopard, polka dot, fuchsia, etc. heels. But when you're traveling, I just don't want to worry about those getting lost by the airline, so I stick with a good ol' black and brown pair. Yes it is a little boring, but I feel I make it up with a colorful top or fun necklace!
P.S. I will add, all your outfits did look amazing in FL! Talk to you soon
