this week's grocery total was the lowest i've EVER had, $24.36. i did take advantage of some things i already had in my pantry but was very impressed with my final total.
monday: pork-sweet potato quesadillas
tuesday: mojo's on 86th -- i have a groupon and les told me they are posting their new winter menu tomorrow. wasn't super impressed the first time we visited, but i am always willing to try again.
wednesday: five-spice pork with roasted oranges and broccoli -- the most expensive item i purchased at the store today was five-spice ringing in just under $5, good thing it will last awhile.
thursday: wild wally sandwich -- i can't find the recipe online but it is essentially a turkey sandwich with blue cheese and hot sauce, two of my favorite ingredients
friday: iowa's premier food and wine expo -- an event i've wanted to go to for years and this year's celebrity chef is art smith, whom i love.
saturday: chickpea chicken-noodle soup
sunday: leftovers -- not a huge fan of leftovers but when sunday rolls around we usually have a fridge full of food that needs to be eaten, so i decided it needed to make the menu this week
Sunday you need to have a huge meal to celebrate someones birthday! Someone that is the coolest person you know!
ReplyDeleteyou're a super menu planner! was shocked to hear the final bill. did that include the $5 off coupon?
ReplyDelete@ jared, nope I couldn't use the $5 off coupon because the total was less than $50.
ReplyDelete@rachel, no idea what Sunday is...jk!
